Thanks to the talented photographer Jay Goodrich, for envisioning a wonderfully creative way to mark Ansel Adams’ birthday today, with the 1st annual adam 12 project. I only had a chance to get out for 5 or so hours today, and the weather was less than pleasant, 23 with fog and snow. Yet as I started driving across the Front Range, I smiled to myself as I realized that Ansel never took the easy route and always dragged the large format camera with him, and he would probably say something like, “Every day has a great photo inside it…you just got to work harder to find it some days more than others.” So, armed with current-day inspiration of Jay, and historical honor of Ansel, I journeyed out with the iPhone and no map nor plan.
